Commissions
Over many years Nancy has undertaken and completed numerous commissioned paintings. Collectors will contact us about a piece they saw in a museum, an ad in a magazine, on her website, or from her book. They would like a piece similar yet larger, or in some cases they prefer it to be a smaller piece. In fact, they may have a specific size in mind for their home, or they have a special pet who has passed away. Oftentimes, a commissioned piece is a gift for someone with a heart connection with a western theme such as barrel racing, the rodeo, cricket, or any number of activities from years gone by.
The Process
The first step in any commission is to contact the Cawdrey Gallery by phone to discuss your idea of a commissioned painting with our staff. They will arrange a conference call or meeting with Nancy to discuss the project in greater details and to hear your story.
The next step is a quote for the commission provided with size, medium and estimated retail price for the finished framed painting, as well as an estimated time frame for completion. Some commissions take as long as a year to eighteen months, some much sooner.
If the quote for the commission is accepted, an invoice for a 50% deposit is sent. Upon receipt of the deposit, your name is then entered onto the commission list for Nancy.
