A’menae is a self-taught artist born and raised in Shelley, Idaho.  She has always been fascinated with art since she was little and was always seen with a pencil or paintbrush in hand. Her most favorite medium is graphite, but she loves to explore different mediums as well. While growing up she would take every opportunity to enter her art in contest and shows. Complements on her work, winning awards, and making it into the Idaho Falls Art Magazine made her want to pursue her passion in art.  She then began to take art classes at BYU-I.  When it comes to references, she loves to capture animals in their wild environment.  She finds a sense of peace and recognizes the beauty when she’s out in nature.  “Art calms me down and gives me a sense of purpose.” She says. “There’s something about putting different colors and marks together to take a picture that is just fascinating to me. The most amazing thing is that it’s mine and I created it.”
